This is the Quadrathlon i plan to take part in this year, i have already started my base training (mainly because i have never taken part in a multi-sport event before).
So whats the challenge?
The Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon is the toughest one day event in Scotland, and at first glance it might not seem so bad, after all a 15 mile run is nothing is it? Think again, look at the terrain the race takes place on, also look at the times from last years event. This really is an all day event!
The Quadrathlon course:
I traveled to the location of the Quadrathlon last year and i have to say its breathtaking (and a little scarey), the course is set in some of the most spectacular and areas of the Scottish Highlands.
The course breaks down as :
- Swim – 1.5k (0.8 miles) to North side of Loch Tay
- Run/Walk – seven Munro’s (approx 24k or 15 miles)
- Kayak – 11k (7 miles) back to Ardtalnaig
- Cycle – around Loch Tay 54k (34 miles)
When i first ran a marathon i had to run the best, so i ran the London marathon, now i am doing a Quadrathlon and i believe i am about to take part in the best in the world.
